Undefeated Volleyball Team Honored by Galloway Board of Education

The coach called his team a "champion in every sense."

The volleyball team was a champion in every sense, coach and Middle School Athletic Director Tim Waldman said at Monday night’s meeting.

The team was a champion in the traditional sense. It went 10-0 and took first place in the conference.

β€œThis team was truly special,” Waldman said. β€œ … I told them all season they were the second most dominant team I’ve ever coached. What I didn’t tell them at the time is that they are the most brilliant and pleasurable team I’ve ever been around.”

It’s another way in which the team was a champion.

β€œAfter every game, the opponent would compliment me on my team,” Waldman said, saying they were talented and a pleasure to play against.

They were recognized in front of the Board of Education at its meeting Monday night, April 16 at the middle school.

The Galloway Township Middle School volleyball team is made up of 16 players and two managers, Tiffany Bell and Kaitlyn Juliano. The captains are Eshani Choksi and Courtney Olson.

The other players included: Emily Chen; Matt Glick; Darcy McLaughlin; Bobby Maguire; Abbas Malik; Emma Nickerson; Carlos Rivera; Matt Schaaf; Joey Santiago; John Searight; Jennifer Severino; Mitul Surti; Serena Thong; and Tiffany Vibora.
