VENTNOR, NJ — The Office of Attorney General on Friday released body-camera footage Friday of police shooting a man in Ventnor who died Aug. 6 at the hospital from his injuries, about 90 minutes after getting shot (a link to the video is below; viewer discretion advised).

Ventnor and Atlantic City police responded to a 911 call concerning a man behaving "erratically" around Wellington Avenue and West End Avenue, the OAG said in a press release. Police found Johnson walking around a marshy area along the roadway and saw him holding a broken glass bottle.

An officer told Johnson he doesn't want to shoot him. Several minutes later, Johnson crossed the road.

"Put that bottle down man!" an officer said. "Put it down!"

Police surrounded him from a distance. The Wilkes-Barre, Pa., resident advances toward police and yells before several officers shoot him.
