WATCH: South Jersey Diner Waitress Saves Man From Burning Car
A video shows a car on fire shortly after a waitress at a New Jersey diner helped an 86-year-old man get out of the vehicle.

A waitress at a New Jersey diner helped an 86-year-old man get out of his car shortly before flames came up, and the vehicle caught fire.
Waitress Angela Avenarius said the man, Charlie Flowers, is a regular at the Bridgeton Family Diner whose car appeared to be overheating when he pulled up to the diner on Thursday, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia.
She said she rushed out yelling to the man and helped him exit the Chevrolet Impala. The pair then took shelter under the diner’s awning. “By the time we got under the canopy, it caught on fire,” Avenarius told NJ.com.

Another waitress, Vonda Mendolera, ran out to move another customer’s car away. “I told all of the customers to get away from all of the windows and called the fire department because I thought it was going to explode,” Avenarius told nj.com.
Firefighters were dispatched to the diner at 11:39 a.m. and remained at the scene until 12:14 p.m.; there were no injuries and the fire did not spread, according to the report.
