William Polistina Nominated for Reappointment to Board of Taxation
The Galloway resident first came to the board in 2002.

William J. Polistina is one of four reappointments to the Atlantic County Board of Taxation, Gov. Chris Christie announced Monday evening, July 30. Polistina, of Galloway Township, is the current president of the board.
The other reappointments include: Theresa Prendergast, of Egg Harbor Township; Harry Brown, of Margate; and John W. Collette, of Mays Landing. Gregory S. Sykora, of Somers Point, is a first-time appointment.
Polistina was first appointed to the board for three years under then-Governor Jim Florio, and returned to the board in 2002, when he was appointed by then-Governor Jim McGreevey. He has been Board President for three years.

Polistina served as Galloway Township's Public Defender from 1998-2003, and is a graduate of Atlantic City High School.
Polistina's second cousin is former Assemblyman Vince Polistina, although William Polistina is a Democrat, while Vince Polistina is a Republican.

Vince Polistina served in the assembly from 2008-2011, meaning his service in the assembly began six years after William's appointment by McGreevey. William Polistina emphasised his second cousin had no impact on his appointment on Tuesday afternoon.
"We belong to different political parties, but we have the same grandfather," William Polisitina said.
He’s a practicing attorney for 20 years, with offices in Absecon, Egg Harbor City and Atlantic City. He graduated from the University of Delaware Law School in 1983.
Additionally, Christie appointed two Atlantic County residents to the Tidelands Resource Council. Phillip J. DiBerardino Sr., of Margate, and Robert Klejdan, of Northfield, were first time appointments.
