Woman Admits To Hiring Teen For Attempted Murder In Atlantic City
Rashanah Camper admitted to paying a 16-year-old $5,000 to shoot a person in Atlantic City, officials said.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An Atlantic City woman pleaded guilty to attempted murder and child endangerment after hiring a teenager to shoot somebody, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Rashanah Camper, 29, faces an eight-year New Jersey State Prison sentence in her plea agreement, officials said. She also faces five years for the endangering charge to run concurrently. Camper will have to serve 85 percent of her sentence before being parole eligible, officials said.
On April 24, 2019, Camper hired then-16-year-old Naim T. Madison to shoot the victim, identified as D.M., in the area of Atlantic and Tennessee avenues in Atlantic City, officials said.

Camper provided Madison with a handgun and drove him around the city until they found D.M., officials said.
She pointed D.M. out and told Madison to "shoot," officials said. Authorities did not say why Camper wanted D.M. to be shot.

Madison left the car and shot D.M. multiple times in the upper torso area, officials said. Camper paid him $5,000 for the shooting, according to authorities.
D.M. was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where she suffered a collapsed lung but survived, authorities said.
Madison was waived up to adult court and previously pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder. His plea agreement calls for a New Jersey State Prison sentence of seven years where he must also serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Camper had another unrelated case for possessing and distributing narcotics while she was out on pre-trial release pending the outcome of the attempted murder case, authorities said. She pleaded guilty in that case and will also serve five years to run concurrent to the other charges.
Camper's sentencing is set for Oct. 19, while Madison's is set for Oct. 11.
