2-Alarm Fire Hits Sicklerville Townhouses, Families Displaced

Although the blaze left significant damage, officials reported no injuries.

SICKLERVILLE, NJ — A two-alarm fire that threatened surrounding homes left several families displaced Tuesday morning in Sicklerville. But nobody sustained injuries, according to the Winslow Township Fire Department.

The blaze broke out in the middle of a row townhouse on Hawthorne Avenue. Winslow Township fire personnel began initial suppression efforts while verifying that all occupants had evacuated.

The fire was extending into other homes, and officials requested a second alarm. As additional crews arrived, first responders stopped the blaze from progressing and ultimately controlled the flames.

Photos from Camden County IAFF Local 2449 show significant damage to the structure, which encompasses several two-story homes.

Fire personnel from Gloucester Township, Pine Hill and Washington Township also responded to the incident. The Camden County and Winslow Township Fire Department’s Fire Marshals Offices are investigating the fire.
