About 200 Flood Victims In Camden, Gloucester Counties Get Help

An assistance center helped flooding victims in need in Gloucester City on Sunday.

About 200 people from Camden and Gloucester counties received assistance at the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) in Gloucester City on Sunday, officials said Monday afternoon.

The MARC provided recovery resources for residents of both counties affected by flooding brought on by heavy rains nearly two weeks ago.

“The most important thing is that folks are getting educated on how to properly remediate their homes after these major events,” Camden County Freeholder Jonathan Young, liaison to the Department of Public Safety, said. “Our focus is on making sure that the homes impacted by flood waters are being cleaned and prepared for re-entry. This helps to prevent future illness and health problems related to dirty water.”
