Camden County Cops Apparent Assault Caught On Video: Reports
The cops were caught on video assaulting a man who was hospitalized and later charged with resisting arrest.
Three Camden County police officers have been placed on administrative leave after a video surfaced showing one of them repeatedly punching a suspect in the head while the other two held the man down. (See the attached video).
The apparent assault of 32-year-old Edward Minguela took place at about 8 p.m. Thursday night on Collings Road in Camden, the Courier Post reports. Police were investigating reports of a man in the area with a gun, but Minguela’s lawyer claims that he wasn’t armed or breaking the law. He suffered “a concussion, broken wrist and extensive bruising," his attorney said.
The officers took him to the emergency room, where he was charged with resisting arrest and obstruction, according to nj.com. He said that was when he first learned why police had initially approached him. He has since been released, and is due in court on Thursday.
