3 Men Arrested With Loaded Handgun in Gloucester Township: Police

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Three men were arrested Wednesday night after Gloucester Township Police found a loaded gun in their car.

Police stopped the car after allegedly seeing it driving west on Church Street in the Blackwood section of the township with no headlights on around 10:30 p.m., police said Friday morning.

As they approached the newer model Dodge Charger, they allegedly detected a smell of raw marijuana, and deduced that the driver was allegedly under the influence.

A search of the car allegedly revealed a .45 Cal Springfield Armory 1911 Handgun, which was allegedly loaded with hollow point bullets.

Jeffery Cardona, 29, of Camden, was charged with DWI, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, possession of prohibited ammunition "hollow points” use and under the influence. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $100,000 bail.

Elijah Wilcox, 28, of Pine Hill, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for unlawful purpose, possession of prohibited ammunition "hollow points,” and certain persons not to have a weapon. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $150,000 bail.

Bashir Carmickel, 27, of Camden, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for unlawful purpose, possession of prohibited ammunition "hollow points,” and certain persons not to have a weapon. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $150,000 bail.
