Alert Resident Helps Gloucester Township Police Capture Alleged Car Burglar

Gloucester Township, NJ -- A 19-year-old Blackwood man was arrested after a resident reported that he was attempting to break into their car early Wednesday morning, Gloucester Township Police said.

Gloucester Township Police were conducting enhanced patrols in the Glendora section of the township at about 1:59 a.m. when they received a report of a man attempting to take items from inside the car.

Police received additional information that the man was reportedly wearing a lighter colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and white shorts.

He then got out of the car, got into a dark colored vehicle and left the area.

As police units arrived on scene and confirmed that a vehicle burglary had occurred, an additional responding officer found a car matching the description of the one used by the suspect.

The officer followed the vehicle into Deptford, where he was able to safely pull the car over.

As the officer approached the car, he said he saw that a male passenger in the car fit the description of the suspect.

After further investigation, Sisto was arrested and charged.

He was processed and released on a criminal summons pending a court future court date.
