GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 40-year-old man was arrested after yelling profanities at officers and driving towards multiple people with his vehicle on Wednesday, the Gloucester Township Police Department said.

Matthew Senkier, of Williamstown, was charged with eluding, obstruction, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police were working a construction work zone along Evesham Road when Senkier began yelling graphic language out of a nearby business towards a stationary officer.

As the officer was closing the road, Senkier told him to leave the area. He then got into a vehicle and drove on the road recklessly through the active construction zone, according to authorities.

Senkier sped up towards construction workers before stopping a short way into the road, where he was not able to go through.

He then reversed and almost hit the officer, who proceeded to approach the vehicle and ordered Senkier to get out because he was under arrest.

Senkier stayed inside and kept yelling at the officer before again driving through the work zone.

This time, he almost hit more people in the area before leaving through a business parking lot onto a residential street.

Senkier was later found and taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

No injuries were reported.
