Attempted Murder Charges Filed Against Camden Co. Man, Official Says

Cornell Ingalls, Jr. of Gibbsboro faces nine other charges from an incident that took place on Tuesday, authorities say.

GIBBSBORO, NJ — A Gibbsboro man was charged with attempted murder and nine other offenses after a shooting occurred during a fight between two men and a woman in Gibbsboro on Tuesday, authorities said.

Cornell Ingalls, Jr., 22, was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder, fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree certain person not to possess a firearm, third-degree possession of a ghost gun, second degree aggravated assault, fourth-degree reckless assault for the injuries to the female victim and third-degree transport of a ghost gun, according to authorities.

He is currently at the Camden County Correctional Facility, authorities said.

The charges stem from the discovery of a woman who had been shot and a man who was assaulted at Freedom Village in Gibbsboro at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities.

The woman was not shot during the fight, authorities said. She was taken to Virtua Voorhees Hospital where she was treated and released for her injuries on Tuesday, authorities said.

The investigation led to a temporary lockout of buildings within the Gibbsboro School District.
