Baseball-Bat Assault During Road-Rage Altercation In Gloucester Township: Police
The suspect took out the 'small' bat after the other driver kicked his car, authorities said.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man assaulted another driver with a baseball bat after that person kicked his car Wednesday evening in Gloucester Township, authorities said.
Township police responded to Blackwood Clementon Road by the Millbridge Apartments at about 7:30 p.m. for the reported road-rage incident. The caller told officials that a vehicle began to merge into his lane, almost causing a crash.
The caller sped away, and the suspect driver — later identified as Stephan Mullin, of Deptford — followed him, police said. Then the caller pulled to the side of the road, approached Mullin's vehicle and kicked it, according to law enforcement.

Mullin, 32, exited his vehicle, grabbed a "small" baseball bat and began to strike the caller in the arm, back and ribs, police said. The suspect then returned to his vehicle and left the scene, according to authorities.
Police didn't report any injuries.

The Deptford resident later went to township police headquarters to report a crash. During the investigation, Mullin provided a statement to law enforcement and was arrested.
Mullin was charged with aggravated assault (third-degree), unlawful possession of a weapon (third-degree) and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (fourth-degree). Officials placed him in the Camden County Jail.
Gloucester Township police provided the following advice for similar situations:
"When dealing with aggressive drivers, The Gloucester Township Police Department recommends you; Let the other driver pass, don't make eye contact, contact authorities and don't go home or find a safe place to stop. If you stop in a public place and a driver gets out of their car, you should honk your horn make as much noise as possible to alert witnesses and get assistance."
