Cops: South Jersey Man Hid Heroin 'Bundles' Inside Body Cavity In The Rear Of His Pants

A body cavity search at a local hospital led to the recovery of several bundles of heroin and landed an Atco man in jail, Gloucester Township Police said Friday afternoon.

Anthony Adams, 29, was among five people charged with various narcotics possession charges on Thursday.

Officers observed Adams consistently reaching in the rear of his pants while in the patrol unit. A search warrant for a body cavity search was obtained, police said.

The body cavity search was conducted at a local hospital, and Adams was found to be hiding a significant amount of heroin in his body, police said.

Gloucester Township Police initially spotted two vehicles stopped leaving the Wawa parking lot at 2700 Sicklerville Road while conducting enhanced criminal patrol operations in the area of Revere Run and Loch Lomond Drive.

Enhanced patrols were the result of reports of increased criminal activity, specifically the dealing of heroin and oxycodone, in the area.

Officers stopped one of the cars, a Mazda occupied by three men, in the Wawa parking lot.

A voluntary consent search of the vehicle yielded heroin, clonazepam pills, and hypodermic syringes.

Adams was stopped in the area of Wilson Avenue, Washington Township. He had just met with one of the occupants in the Mazda.

Officers located a hypodermic syringe following a voluntary consent search of the vehicle. Adams and Tyeisha Jackson, a passenger in the car, were arrested and transported to police headquarters.

Adams was charged with distribution of CDS (2nd degree), possession of CDS (3rd degree), and possession of a hypodermic syringe (disorderly persons).

He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of $100,000.00 full cash bail.

Jackson, 32, of Winslow, was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe (disorderly persons).

Jonathan Ryan, 26, of Washington Township, was charged with possession of CDS (3rd degree) and possession of a hypodermic syringe (disorderly persons).

Charles Yates, 29, of Washington Township, was charged with possession of CDS (3rd degree) and possession of a hypodermic syringe (disorderly persons).

Earl Shone, 26, of Clementon, was charged with possession of CDS (3rd degree) and possession of a hypodermic syringe (disorderly persons).
