15-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit By Car In South Jersey: Report

A fundraiser for his family has been organized.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A 15-year-old freshman at Lenape High School died after he was hit by a car while walking down a road on Sunday, according to NBC.

Jude Gill was "Very friendly. He made friends with everybody. He was just a good kid," his former coach and the President of Mt. Laurel Basketball, Chris Beeler, said.

At around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Church Street for a report of a pedestrian-involved vehicle accident.

Gill was taken to Cooper Hospital after the crash.

According to Mount Laurel Police, the 29-year-old woman who was driving stayed at the scene and was cooperating with authorities.

A fundraiser has been organized for Gill's family to help with medical and funeral costs.

More than $90,000 has been raised.

Patch has reached out to Principal Tony Cattani for more on the school's response and is yet to hear back.
