The driver of a Toyota Rav 4 was pronounced dead on the scene following an accident with a school bus on East Commerce Street in Fairfield Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey State Police said.

Several children were taken to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland with minor injuries, and a bus aide was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with serious injuries.

The Bridgeton school bus included four students, ages 11 to 17, who were in an out-of-district placement program, nj.com reports.

The school district has reached out to the parents of the children, and an employee with the school district is at the hospital with the students, according to the report.

The school bus belongs to Kerry Bus Company in Vineland, which operates as a consortium of school districts in the area, according to the Courier Post.
