Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Vehicle Strikes Her In Camden Co.: Police

The woman, who was crossing the White Horse Pike, was airlifted to the hospital, authorities said.

WATERFORD, NJ — A vehicle struck and seriously injured a woman as she crossed the White Horse Pike, putting her in critical condition, authorities said.

Waterford police responded to the collision at 6:14 p.m. Thursday on the roadway's intersection with Pinehurst Drive. A vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on the White Horse Pike, struck the 59-year-old Atco resident as she attempted to cross the road, according to law enforcement.

The pedestrian was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. She's in critical condition as of Friday morning, according to Police Chief Daniel Cormaney.

Police have not disclosed the identities of the pedestrian or driver as of this writing.

The driver stayed on location and cooperated with detectives from the Waterford Township Police Department and Camden County Prosecutor's Office. The incident remains under investigation.
