Camden County College To Host Annual 9/11 Observance Wednesday

The ceremony will take place in the plaza at the Taft Courtyard Flagpole at the Camden County College Blackwood Campus.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Camden County will hold its annual memorial ceremony in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 8:45 a.m., county officials announced.

The ceremony will take place in the plaza at the Taft Courtyard Flagpole at the Camden County College Blackwood Campus, 200 College Drive in Gloucester Township.

The observance will begin with the cadets of the current Camden County Police Academy Recruit Class and Correction Officer Class marching in unison to the flagpole in the college’s Taft Courtyard. The ceremony will also feature speakers and patriotic music.

Attendees will include Camden County Freeholder Melinda Kane, Camden County College President Donald Borden, representatives from the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs and students, staff and faculty from Camden County College.

“We gather together to remember those who lost their lives on that fateful September morning, and all of the military service members that paid the ultimate sacrifice in the years following,” said Kane, a Gold Star Mother and liaison to the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs. “Our nation changed forever that day 18 years ago. Let us never forget our veteran, first responder and civilian heroes, and all the innocent victims of terrorism around the world.”
