Camden County Sees Another Record Day For Coronavirus Cases

Camden County had another record-setting day when it comes to new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, when 334 new cases were identified.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Camden County had another record-setting day when it comes to new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, when 334 new cases were identified.

It is the second time in less than a week that it exceeded 300 cases, as there were 312 new cases reported on Friday. No new deaths were reported on Wednesday, and trace investigations are underway in all new cases. Despite the increase in cases, the fatality rate for the second wave of the virus remains low.

“There’s only one way to slow the spread of this virus. We need to minimize our contact with others, achieve universal mask wearing, and continue social distancing,” Camden County Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “We aren’t seeing any signs of this surge slowing down. Our daily average of new cases over the last week is higher than it’s ever been, even with yesterday’s relatively low caseload. Unfortunately, that means that nothing has changed with regard to the coming holiday. The only way to protect your friends and loved ones is to limit this year’s Thanksgiving celebrations to the members of your household.”
