Card Skimmer Found At Family Dollar In Camden Co.

The inconspicuous devices allow criminals to steal credit and debit card info.

PENNSAUKEN, NJ — An illegal device that can pick up credit and debit card information was found at a Camden County store.

The skimming device was discovered on a credit card machine at Family Dollar(5043 N Route 130, Pennsauken), police said at 4 p.m. Monday.

It's unknown how long it was on the machine. But if you used a card machine at that location, "it is highly recommended that you contact your credit card company and advise them of this finding," said the Pennsauken Police Department.

The incident is under investigation.

Card skimmers are inconspicuous tool used to steal credit, debit and EBT card information. The devices are illegally placed on ATMs, fuel pumps and other locations to capture personal data and cardholders' PINs. Offenders use that information to create fake cards and then steal from victims' accounts.
