CCC Training Programs Get Students Career-Ready in 12 Months or Less

Camden County College is offering 29 training programs in a range of fields that lead to a career-launching credential in one year or less.

Camden County College recognizes that not everyone has two years or more to spend in college before joining the workforce and that some people just aren’t interested in the traditionally “academic” side of postsecondary education. That’s why CCC is offering 29 training programs in a variety of fields that lead to a career-launching credential in one year or less.

Designed so students can study only what they need to know to get a job quickly, these learn-to-earn programs take just four, five, six, eight, nine, 10 or 12 months to complete and are all in fields where jobs are available and trained employees are in demand. Courses are available in automotive; computers/information technology; construction technology; cosmetology; culinary arts; healthcare and wellness; law enforcement; manufacturing technology; and wastewater treatment.

Automotive programs are in auto collision repair and refinishing; automotive technology; and General Motors technician studies.

Computers/information technology programs include Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Windows Server 2012/Cisco Certified Network Associate in Routing and Switching studies; structured query language analysis; technology support; and web programming.

Construction technology options are in carpentry; residential electrical; basic through advanced electrician studies; heating/ventilation/air conditioning; and welding.

Cosmetology offers quick-completion studies leading to a career as a hair stylist.

Within culinary arts, students can study restaurant operations.

Healthcare and wellness options include behavioral healthcare; nursing assistant studies; medical assisting; dialysis; multi-skilled technician studies; ophthalmic medical technology; patient care; personal training; and pharmacy technician studies.

The short-term law enforcement option is the Camden County College Police Academy Alternate Route program.

Manufacturing technology programs include computer-aided manufacturing; industrial control/programmable logic controller studies; and precision machining technology.

Wastewater treatment options include basic water/wastewater studies and a program in wastewater collection systems.

Many of these programs are offered on CCC’s centrally located Blackwood Campus, which is right off Exit 7B of Route 42 and just minutes away from the Black Horse Pike, the White Horse Pike, Blackwood-Clementon Road, Cross Keys Road, Interstate 295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. Some programs are offered at the Camden County College Regional Emergency Training Center, also in Gloucester Township, and others are housed on the Sicklerville Campus of Camden County Technical Schools.

Most sessions have been scheduled to begin in September, so classes are enrolling now. To learn more, prospective students should visit www.camdencc.edu/ready and click on the links for the fields of study and specific programs that interest them. Each link includes the amount of time needed to complete the program; a description of what the program covers; and a contact person to consult for further information or to begin the registration process. Also included are the number of college credits that certain programs are worth if students decide to continue their higher education in the future.
