Clementon Man Admits to Multiple Child Sex Assaults in Gloucester County

William A. Garcia admits to sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 multiple times between September and December of 2005.

A Clementon man admitted to sexually assaulting a child under 13 years old multiple times between September and December of 2005, when he was living in Monroe Township, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said on Thursday.

William A. Garcia, 35, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault.

Garcia faces 13 years in state prison for the first-degree charge and a concurrent five year term on the second-degree plea. The state’s No Early Release Act applies, requiring Garcia to serve 85 percent of his prison sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

Garcia will be evaluated at the state’s Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a facility for sex offenders in Avenel before a sentencing date is set. It is possible that Garcia will serve his sentence at the center while undergoing treatment.

Garcia has been in jail in default of $150,000 bail since his arrest on July 2, 2013, after a disclosure by the child.
