Cooling Centers In Gloucester Township To Remain Open Through the Weekend

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Cooling centers in Gloucester Township will remain open through the weekend.

The centers were open from noon-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday as an Excessive Heat Warning takes hold in South Jersey.

They will now also be open from noon-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, as heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees each afternoon.

In Gloucester Township, cooling centers are located at:

• Hider Lane Senior Center, 1571 Hider Lane, open 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Call 856-228-9015; and
• Gloucester Township Boro Hall, 1261 Chews Landing Road, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 856-228-4000.

Fans are also available to senior citizens, ages 60 years or older, who have an income of less than $25,000 a year. To request a fan or to obtain more information, call the Camden County Division of Senior Services at 856-858-3220.
