Discover Performing Arts Opportunities at Mainstage's Open House Series at Academy Hall
Tots through adults looking to explore the world of performing arts will find many opportunities at Mainstage's Wednesday night open houses.

Tots through adults looking to explore the world of performing arts will discover many opportunities at Mainstage Center for the Arts Open House series. These open houses will take place at Mainstage’s Academy Hall, 27 South Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ, Wednesday evenings, 6-8 pm, throughout the months of September and October. The series continues next week, Wednesday, September 17.
With dozens of dynamic classes in acting, voice, dance, film and more, Mainstage offers something for everyone.
The acting classes are designed so each student has fun, while learning different techniques. These classes range from Mommy and Me, where two and three year-olds, along with their guardians, will build communication skills and socialize through songs and activities, to Adult Acting, which provides beginners through seasoned performers tools to accomplish their acting goals. The private vocal lessons enable students to develop an even tone, a larger range, more strength and flexibility, and good breath support for singing. The Musical Dance Elective helps students gain the edge they need at auditions, working with local choreographers and directors.
One new exciting addition to Mainstage’s programming is the While You Wait classes for parents. These classes include Yoga, Zumba, Gardening, Photography, Photoshop and more for parents to enjoy while their children take class.
Also new this year:
• Make A Movie –Participants will learn the art of filmmaking from writing the screenplay, shooting the film, and editing the footage for a professional finished product.
• Craft Acting – Three and four year olds will create visual art projects to use in theatre games to nurture their creative spirits.
• Musical Theatre – In this all-encompassing class, three teachers will each focus on acting, dancing, and singing.

We think families will love this opportunity for their children,” said Chris Melohn, new Managing, Artistic, and Education Director for MainStage Center for the Arts at Academy Hall.
