The house that caught fire is on the end of a line of row homes in the Clementon section of town. It doesn't appear that the flames spread to any adjacent homes.

Photos from the Gloucester Township Police Department show heavy damage and hollowed-out windows on the second floor.

Township police reminded residents to check their smoke alarms.

"Smoke alarms are a key component of any fire escape plan," the GTPD said. "When there is smoke, there is fire, which can spread quickly. Working smoke alarms provide early warnings, allowing you to evacuate promptly."
