Don't believe everything you read when it comes to the GT sewer sale.

How desperate is the dirty, deceiving political machine in Gloucester Twp?

The establishment, political machine in Gloucester Township said they would dissolve the GTMUA because they had too much money in reserve for emergencies, and it was deemed "ridiculous." They consistently denied any plans to sell it, but then said that they only wanted to determine its worth by putting it out to bid. Aqua bid $52 million, while New Jersey American Water bid $143 million. Mayor David R. Mayer, who is listed as an Employee for NJAW, did not discuss the potential conflict of interest, but a statement, said that he recused himself as Mayor. The Administration and Council failed to provide information on how much dissolving the MUA would, or did save the township, ever.

Now, with significant financial stakes involved in this sewer capture, they are spreading more misinformation. Frank Mellace has been brought in, and it is worth noting that he was previously involved in obstructing and disassembling the Republican party. Despite briefly serving as a Republican Chair, he was revealed to be a plant and was asked to resign. He has been a loyal establishment soldier, even posting controversial content on social media forums while holding a comfortable job in the tax office.

Recently, Mr. Mellace's short stint with the Republicans has been used to imply that the GT Republican party supports the sewer referendum, which is not remotely true. Most people in Gloucester Township, regardless of party affiliation, do not want their sewer bill to increase by more than four times. As the long-time Democratic establishment soldier and former Chair Mellace, He does not speak for the party.

I, Ray Polidoro, have been the Chairman for almost the past 20 years and still am. I stand with Democrats, Independents, and Republicans in our town and do not support the sale or the potentially significant increase in our sewer bill. A “NO” vote stops those increases. Once it is sold, the people of Gloucester Township will have no say or control, and we do not want another Comcast-like situation with our sewer bill.
