Driver Was Going More Than 100MPH In Fatal South Jersey Crash: Police
Police say the driver of a Corvette was speeding when he hit a Marlton man trying to turn into a Black Horse Pike business on Dec. 14.
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A South Jersey man was traveling more than 100 miles per hour just before he hit another driver and caused his death, Monroe Township Police said.
Police charged 22-year-old Gabriel Woolson of Williamstown with one count of death by auto and one count of assault by auto after the fatal crash on Black Horse Pike on Dec. 14. He has been arrested, police said.
According to officials, 52-year-old Evan S. Silverstein of Marlton was driving westbound on U.S. 322 near the intersection of Ocean Lane around 5:40 p.m. that day. Silverstein attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot, when Woolson's Chevrolet Corvette hit the rear passenger side of his Honda Accord.

Police said Silverstein was ejected from the vehicle. Doctors pronounced him dead at Jefferson Hospital - Washington Township shortly before 7 p.m., according to Monroe Township police.
Police announced Woolson's arrest on Jan. 9.

According to his obituary, Silverstein's family have asked that memorial donations be made to the Animal Welfare Association of Voorhees (www.awanj.org) or the Voorhees Animal Orphanage (www.vaonj.org). Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home (Route 73 and Evesham Road, Marlton). A memorial service will follow.
