Elementary School Students Shop With Cops in Gloucester Township

Students received a $100 Target gift card to shop for their families.

About 24 children, 40 Gloucester Township Police Officers, over 25 Target employees and other volunteers participated in the Heroes and Helpers event to help children from Gloucester Township to purchase holiday gifts for their families on Saturday, police said.

The program, offered for the second time, provides male and female students from each of the elementary schools in the district the chance to pick out up to $100 worth of holiday gifts for their families, via a gift card purchased using grant money the police department was awarded from Target.

Each of the children was partnered with a police officer. Target employees wrapped the gifts.
