Lil’ Slugger’s Accomplishment: It’s not often a player gets a chance to record a walk-off hit in a blowout, but that’s exactly the opportunity that was afforded to and taken advantage of by Crumpler Monday night. The local youngster belted a solo home run to straightaway center field in the bottom of the fifth to send Erial to an 11-1 mercy-rule win. That accomplishment alone is worthy of celebration, but Crumpler’s day was even better. He opened the game with a solo home run, setting the tone for the big win over Glendora.

Lil’ Slugger’s Key to Awesomeness: Crumpler was not afraid of falling behind in the count and was able to handle a pair of breaking balls that came his way. Neither of the home runs came cheap either, as they were no-doubt-about-its off the bat.

Crumpler is excited about how far his team can go this summer.

“I think we are going to win  it all,” Crumpler said. “Everybody is hitting and doing good. I think we are going to do it."
