Ex-Postal Worker Stole $170K From Gloucester Twp. Businesses On His Mail Route: Feds

BLACKWOOD, NJ — A former mail carrier faces prison after admitting in federal court to stealing more than $170,000 in cash meant for businesses at Gloucester Premium Outlets.

Joseph Fenuto, 51, of Blackwood, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of mail theft.

From November 2021 to August 2022, Fenuto delivered mail in Blackwood, with a postal route that included Gloucester Premium Outlets. Fenuto stole more than 50 parcels containing cash that the shopping center's retail stores were supposed to receive for their sales, according to court documents.

Those parcels, sent by an Ohio bank, totaled $171,110.

A conviction for mail theft carries up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000, along with forfeiture of the stolen money. Sentencing is scheduled for April 2.
