Ex-TV News Reporter Charged With Child Porn Possession In South Jersey

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A former broadcast-news reporter who lives in South Jersey possessed child pornography, police said.

Cleve Bryan, of Sewell, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested Wednesday following an investigation from Washington Township detectives and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office's High Tech Crimes Unit.

Officials placed Bryan in the Salem County Correctional Facility, pending a court appearance.

Bryan worked for CBS Philadelphia from 2013-20, serving as a senior reporter and the station's South Jersey bureau chief, according to his LinkedIn profile. ViacomCBS, the station's parent company, laid him off in 2020 during a nationwide staff reduction that impacted about 400 jobs.

He was also a reporter and anchor for the now-defunct NBC40 News in Atlantic County from 2005-08, followed by stints at stations in South Carolina and Virginia.

Since mid-2020, Bryan has been a self-employed media consultant, according to his LinkedIn page.
