Faculty Art Show Opening at Camden County College
Check out the college's 45th annual Visual Arts Faculty and Staff Exhibition, opening Nov. 16, as well as theater productions from award-winning directors.
Skip the drive to the Philly Art Museum—Camden County College will open its 45th annual Visual Arts Faculty and Staff Exhibition on Nov. 16.
The exhibition will feature photography, clay, glass, acrylics, soapstone, graphite and other creative media.
Held in the college's Marlin Gallery, inside Lincoln Hall on the Blackwood campus, the exhibition will offer an array of pieces. There's something for everyone, says gallery director Therese Marlin.

"Gallery visitors are invited to respond to the cerebral yet sensual graphite works of Greg Brellochs; the bold, self-revealing acrylics of Kay Klotzbach; or the voyeuristic, introspective glass work of Phil Rychert," Marlin said. "Camden County College’s visual arts instructors are all artists. Many are represented by galleries in Philadelphia, all have shown in local and/or national galleries, and some have had, or are scheduled to have, one-person shows.
"Because of their dual status, these faculty and staff are able to help their students develop the skills and techniques needed to produce art along with the self-determination and persistence to show art," she added.

If gallery arts are not your thing, don't miss the college's theatre programming. Later this month, the Stages theater company will present the The School for Wives, a comedy. CCC professor Marjorie Sokoloff will be directing.
Sokoloff recently received the 2011 Perry Award for Excellence in New Jersey Theatre from the New Jersey Association of Community Theater for a production staged on campus during the spring 2011 semester.
Also honored was Donald Swenson, an adjunct professor and technician. Both were recognized for the 1960s hippie-themed production of Shakespeare's comedy As You Like It.
The Visual Arts Faculty and Staff Exhibition will open with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 and continue through Dec. 16. Admission to the reception and the show is free.
Regular hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Additional hours may be arranged by appointment.
