Fast-Moving Fire Scorches Multiple Apartments, Displaces Camden Co. Families
No injuries were reported, and a cat was rescued. But several families lost their homes.
LINDENWOLD, NJ — Multiple families were displaced but no injuries were reported after a fast-moving fire damaged several apartments Tuesday in Lindenwold.
The fire broke out around 11 a.m. at the Laurel Hill Apartments. First responders found flames moving quickly along the front of a building in the complex.
Crews extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported to residents or firefighters. A cat was rescued from the fire, officials said.

But residents in eight apartments were displaced, including a retired Lindenwold firefighter, according to 6abc Action News.
"Being a Lindenwold fireman, I've seen fires," Russ Hume, 81, told the media outlet. "I know what it's all about."

Lindenwold firefighters led operations as crews from surrounding communities assisted.
The Lindenwold Fire Department reminded people to call 911 for emergencies.
"We would like to remind the residents, we are a volunteer fire company," the department said. "We do not have staffing at the firehouse. If you have an emergency you must call 911. Do not call the firehouse as there may not be anyone there."
