Fiery Crash Kills Man In Camden County: Police

The driver, an audio engineer, was 'an integral part' of the live-music industry in Greater Philadelphia, a GoFundMe says.

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — A vehicle struck a tree and caught fire, killing the driver Friday evening on the Atlantic City Expressway, authorities said.

State troopers responded to the crash at 6:43 p.m. in Winslow Township. The driver — Matthew Martin, 41, of Audubon — sustained fatal injuries, police said.

Martin was driving east when his Honda SUV ran off the road to the left and hit a tree in the center median, according to State Police. His vehicle became engulfed.

The crash remains under investigation.

Martin was driving to work as an audio engineer in Atlantic City, according to a GoFundMe page. As of this writing, the online fundraiser has generated $31,000 to support his family and offset the costs of his memorial.

"He was a husband, a father to three children, and an integral part of the live music industry in the larger Philadelphia area and beyond," the GoFundMe says.
