A Formula Exchange Safe Space Exists In Camden Co. Here's Where.

The shortage of baby formula in the United States has led some to look in other places besides traditional stores for the product.

VOORHEES, NJ — The Voorhees Police Department recently took steps to help ensure those who acquire baby formula outside of a traditional store setting remain safe.

The police department set up what it calls formula exchange safe space at its headquarters on 1180 White Horse Road.

If you do not live near Voorhees, the police department offered the following tips to help ensure those who acquire baby formula outside of a traditional store setting remain safe:

  • Conduct the exchange in a "well-lit, highly-trafficked, public place" with surveillance or security officers present.
  • Let a "trusted friend or family member know all the details of the exchange" (Who are you meeting with? When? Where?)
  • Check that the packaging for the formula you receive is sealed.

There are also formula exchange safe places in Delran, Lumberton and Moorestown, according to the police department. You can find out the specific locations in each of those municipalities by reading the Patch story at this link.
