Fugitive Charged With Weapons Trafficking Frequents South Jersey: State Police

State authorities are seeking a man charged more than a year ago with weapons offenses.

SOUTH JERSEY — Authorities are seeking a man accused of weapons offenses who's known to frequent several areas in South Jersey. State Police labeled George Gaines, Jr. a fugitive and asked the public Wednesday for help in locating him.

In February 2022, Gaines was charged with weapons trafficking by the State Police Trafficking South Unit. He was last seen in Salem County and is known to frequent the Camden and Paulsboro area, according to law enforcement.

Gaines, 51, is a Black man who is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 165 pounds, police said.
