GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The nominating petitions are in, and the field for the Gloucester Township Council election has taken shape.

Four of the governing body's seven seats are on the ballot. Since the Democratic and Republican Parties each nominated four candidates, they'll both have uncontested primaries this June.

A fifth council seat could also become available later this year. Council Member Dan Hutchison, whose term expires in 2025, is running to represent New Jersey's 4th Legislative District in the State Assembly. But the future of his spot on the council will depend on the Democrat's success in this year's State Legislature elections.
