Gloucester Township House Fire Caused By Lightning Strike: Police

A family of six has been displaced after their home was struck by lightning in Gloucester Township Wednesday night.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A family of six has been displaced after their house was struck by lightning and caught fire Wednesday night, Gloucester Township police said.

Two parents and their four children were able to escape the house on Breckenridge Drive after it was struck by lightning during Wednesday night’s storm, police said.
Numerous fire departments extinguished the blaze, and no one was injured during the fire, police said.

The family is displaced until repairs can be made to the home, which suffered smoke and water damage. The fire marshal’s office is investigating the incident.
