WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Gloucester Township man has been arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a child at a Walmart in Washington Township.

Robert L. McKeown Jr., 31 of the Blackwood section of the township, is accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl at the store while she was shopping with her mother Saturday afternoon, Sept. 5, police announced.

After the mother confronted McKeown, he left the store in a silver sedan, police said. McKeown surrendered after police released surveillance photos of him from inside the store on social media, police said.

McKeown was charged with second-degree sexual assault and lodged in Salem County Jail.
