Gloucester Township Police Show Support for Murdered NYPD Officers

All Gloucester Township Police Officers shall be wearing mourning bands over their badges for 7 days.

By the order of Chief Harry Earle, all Gloucester Township Police Officers shall be wearing mourning bands over their badges for seven days in honor of two NYPD officers who were killed on Saturday, the GTPD announced Saturday night.

The men and women of the Gloucester Township Police Department are showing solidarity with the New York City Police Department after Ismaaiyl Brinsley, a 28-year-old black male, shot two police officers dead before taking his own life Saturday afternoon.

Brinsley posted on Instagram that the murders were done in retaliation for police officers involved in the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown not being indicted.

“Please keep the murdered Officers, their families, the NYPD, and all law enforcement your thoughts and prayers,” Gloucester Township Police said in a statement Saturday night.

Brinsley shot officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in the head execution style while they sat in a marked car in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon, according to aol.com.
