Gloucester Township Police Sponsoring FEMA's PrepareAthon
PrepareAthon helps residents prepare for natural disasters.

The Gloucester Township Police Department is a sponsor of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) PrepareAthon, a grassroots campaign to help residents prepare for natural disasters.
PrepareAthon is a national campaign for action to increase individual and community preparedness and resilience. This is accomplished through hazard-specific drills, group discussions, and exercises for relevant hazards.
According to a 2012 national survey conducted by FEMA, 46 percent of respondents believed that a natural disaster will occur in their community. However, nearly 70 percent of Americans have not participated in a preparedness drill or exercise in their home, school, or workplace in the past two years.
