HAPA in Concert Brings a bit of Hawaii to New Jersey

HAPA, named the most successful Hawaiian music troupe in recent history by the New York Times, returns to Camden County College, February 19

HAPA, named the most successful Hawaiian music troupe in recent history by the New York Times, returns to Camden County College’s Dennis Flyer Theatre stage, Blackwood, Thursday, Feb. 19, 7:30 p.m.

Comprised of Barry Flanagan, Kapono Na’ili’ili, Tarvin Makia, and Radasha Ho’ohuli, the hula dancer.

HAPA burst onto the Hawaiian music scene in 1993, distinguishing themselves by combining soft pop with the slack key guitar and soaring melodies sung in the native island language.

After thoroughly enjoying their performance for Mainstage during last year’s tour to the mainland, HAPA quickly scheduled this year’s concert.

For MCA artistic director and co-founder, Ed Fiscella, it’s like having old friends return.

“Not only does HAPA present an incredible show, they are also so gracious,” Fiscella said. ”After the concert they stayed in the lobby for a long time talking with fans, signing autographs, and taking photos. They’re some of the most genuine people I know.”
