Here's How Much Gloucester Taxpayers Pay For School, Per Student

NJDOE recently released a list of how much money taxpayers pay per student in each school district.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has released a list of every district that details how much money taxpayers spend to send each child to a public school.

It costs $15,172 to send each student to school in the Black Horse Pike Regional School District, and $13,71 to send each student to school in the Gloucester Township K-8 Public School District, according to the list.

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District checked in at No. 386 on the list, and the Gloucester Township K-8 Public School District checked in at No. 522.

Avalon topped the list, with taxpayers paying $57,574 per student. Compass Academy Charter School students cost an average of $8,863 to send to school. See the full list here: Taxpayers In These NJ School Districts Pay More Than Anybody

These costs include: transportation, special revenues, pension and benefits paid by the state, facilities (including debt service), equipment, total food services, judgments against the school district and tuition/costs for students sent out of district (except payments to charter schools), according to state officials.

The statewide average for school spending per-pupil in 2017-2018 was $15,720, a 5 percent increase over two years.
