Highland, Triton Baseball Teams Unbeaten Ahead Of Matchup

Both teams are 4-0 ahead of their matchup at Highland on Monday, according to nj.com.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - Two Black Horse Pike Regional School District baseball teams are undefeated through four games this season, ahead of a big game next week.

Highland is off to a 4-0 start this season. After defeating Williamstown for the first time since 2012, Highland has beaten Cumberland, Delsea and Kingsway.

Mark Cotton struck out six batters and allowed one hit in a 16-0 win over Cumberland Regional on April 3, according to nj.com. Adam Aqualino went 3-for-3 with three RBI at the plate as the Tartans scored 15 runs in the third inning.

Jake McDonnell struck out four batters in two innings of work to pick up the win in a 6-3 win over Kingsway on April 5. Dylan Maria hit a two-run homer as Highland came back from a 2-1 deficit with four runs in the fifth inning.

Maria struck out five batters and allowed just one hit in Highland’s 12-0 win over Delsea the following day. He also blasted a home run to help Highland remain unbeaten.

After opening the season with an 11-4 win over Deptford, Triton defeated Kingsway, Salem and Cumberland to improve to 4-0.

Colin Taylor struck out five batters and permitted five hits in 6.2 innings of work in Triton’s 6-4 win over Kingsway on April 3. Jake Snyder had a two-run double as Triton scored five runs in the top of the first inning and held on for the win.

Triton’s bats exploded in a 21-0 win over Salem on April 5. Snyder was 3-for-5 with four RBI. He also had a pair of doubles. Taylor was 2-for-2 with three RBI and a double. Matt Woods didn’t allow a hit and struck out seven in three innings of work to pick up the win. Matt Carpineta tossed two innings of no-hit ball and struck out four batters.

Mike Shannon struck out six batters in a complete-game shutout win over Cumberland on April 9. Woods was 2-for-3 with two RBI in the 2-0 win.

Highland will host Triton on Monday, April 15, 3:45 p.m.
