Highland Wrestling Team Lands Four No. 1 Seeds in District Tournament

Following a one-point loss in the sectional semifinals of the team tournament, the wrestlers on the Highland High School wrestling team are poised for individual glory.

Highland has four No. 1 seeds in the District 30 wrestling tournament, according to nj.com.

Seth Henry (22-3) is the top seed at 106 pounds. Triton’s Chance Donahue (23-6) is seeded fourth in the weight class, which will feature eight competitors.

Lucas Siegfried (22-2) is the top seed at 113. Timber Creek’s Domenic Augello (16-2) is seeded third, and Triton’s Robert Davies (14-2) is the No. 5 seed. There are nine wrestlers in this weight class.

Sheldon Morris (21-2) is the top seed at 160. Triton’s Nicholas Libetore (12-14) is the No. 6 seed in the eight-person field.

Mark Gillis (19-3) is the No. 1 seed at 220. Triton’s Nicholas Mako (11-10) is the No. 4 seed, and Timber Creek’s Christopher Waters (4-15) is the No. 9 seed in the 10-man weight class.

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District landed the top three seeds in the 195-pound weight class, which will feature nine wrestlers.

Timber Creek’s Kashon Gordan (22-3) is the No. 1 seed. Highland’s George Duddy (17-6) is the No. 2 seed. Triton’s Andrew Smith (23-4) is the No. 3 seed.

Triton’s Parker Williams (19-7) is the top seed at 170. Highland’s Joe Tripoli (13-8) is the No. 3 seed, and Timber Creek’s Paolo Barcelona (3-18) is the No. 7 seed. There are nine wrestlers in this weight class.

120 (10 wrestlers): No. 3 Alex Tran (Timber Creek, 19-8); No. 8 Tom Cuffari (Highland, 0-0); No. 9 Richard Angelino (Triton, 2-4).

126 (10 wrestlers): No. 4 Dillon Prendergast (Highland 0-0); No. 5 Peter Waldron (Triton, 17-10); No. 6 Christian LaRoda (Timber Creek, 5-1).

132 (9 wrestlers): No. 2 Josh Clark (Highland, 16-2); No. 5 Christian Bobe (Timber Creek, 12-9); No. 9 Sean McElrean (Triton, 1-5).

138 (7 wrestlers): No. 3 Mikal Jenkins (Highland, 17-6); No. 5 Thajee Robinson (Triton, 13-11).

145 (10 wrestlers): No. 2 Blaine Shade (Timber Creek, 20-9); No. 5 Jason Smith (Triton, 15-13); No. 7 Isaiah Randall (Highland, 3-4).

152 (10 wrestlers): No. 4 Matthew Mazziotti (Triton, 22-7); No. 6 Alex Carpenter (Timber Creek, 13-14); No. 7 Nick Wade (Highland, 3-3).

182 (9 wrestlers): No. 3 Mike Astrella (Timber Creek, 3-17); No. 5 Mani Singh (Triton, 9-15); No. 7 Antonio Moffa (Highland, 17-6).

Heavyweight: No. 3 Andrew Baez (Highland, 18-4); No. 6 Jake Brown (Triton, 11-6); No. 8 Jahmir Mungo (Timber Creek, 3-3).

The tournament begins Friday night, 5 p.m. at Overbrook Regional High School. Semifinals begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, with the consolation and finals commencing at 2 p.m.
