She was extracted after a short time and evaluated by medical personnel, officials said.

WATERFORD, NJ — An elderly victim got trapped under a wall in her basement Monday after part of the Waterford Township home collapsed, officials said.

Police responded to 368 Raritan Ave. at 7:18 a.m. for the reported entrapment. Her husband directed officers to the basement, where she was stuck beneath a "large portion" of a cinder-block wall and metal shaving, according to Police Chief Daniel Cormaney.

The cause of the collapse and the extent of the damage weren't immediately clear.
