Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs Tournament in Gloucester Township Saturday

The tournament is at Dramesi Lake.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Gloucester Township’s fourth annual Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs Kids Tournament is set for Saturday, April 30, at Dramesi Lake, 1575 Hider Lane in the Laurel Springs section of the township.

The tournament honors former Gloucester Township K-8 School District Superintendent Dr. Thomas Seddon, who retired in 2012.

Registration is from 8 a.m.-9 a.m., and mandatory classes are 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Classes include LEAD Program, safety procedures and more.

Fishing is from 10 a.m.-noon, followed by lunch and an awards ceremony from noon-2 p.m.

There will be free food, free bait and prizes.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Participants are asked to bring a fishing rod if they have one.

Drivers are advised that there will be heavy pedestrian traffic and a police presence in the area of Hider Lane between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Minor delays should be expected. Drivers should avoid the area if possible, and use caution if they must drive in the area.

The event is sponsored by the Gloucester Township Mayor’s Office, LEAD Officers, Fire and Rescue Squads, Senior Citizen’s Building Personnel, Parks and Recreation and ASAC Volunteers.
