Latest Gloucester Township Coronavirus Updates

As of Monday, there are 928 cases of the coronavirus in Gloucester Township with 57 confirmed deaths.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — There were eight new cases of the coronavirus reported in Gloucester Township over a three-day period from Saturday through Monday, according to Camden County officials.

There were no new deaths, bringing the total number of cases in Gloucester Township to 928 with 57 confirmed deaths. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

There were only two cases reported on Monday, but they both involved children older than 10. One was a boy and one was a girl. Countywide, there are 9,40 coronavirus cases with 551 confirmed deaths. There were no deaths announced anywhere in the county over the weekend, and there were an additional 96 confirmed cases reported over the three-day period in Camden County.

According to the Camden County Department of Health, there are 1,342 confirmed cases among residents at the county's long-term care facilities, with 313 deaths. Another 531 cases were reported among staff members, with three deaths.

At Elmwood Hills Health Center in Gloucester Township, there are 173 cases confirmed among residents with 36 confirmed deaths and 45 cases confirmed among staff members with zero deaths.

“We are wishing for speedy recoveries for each of the residents battling this insidious disease in Camden County today,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Our residents have done an incredible job fighting the spread of coronavirus, but I know how hard it is to put normal life on hold month after month. The truth is that we don’t know how long this fight will last, but we know it will be shorter if we remain committed to the principles that brought New Jersey back from one of the worst outbreaks in the country. Wear a mask, social distance, and work with contact tracers when they call. If we work together, we will get through this stronger than we have ever been.”

On Saturday, there was one case of the coronavirus confirmed in Gloucester Township. It involved a man in his 60s.

There were five reported on Sunday, including cases involving a man in his 60s, a woman in her 50s, a man in his 40s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 50s.
