Loaded Handgun, Drugs Recovered Following Traffic Stop in Gloucester Township: Police

A Camden man was arrested and charged. His passenger was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- A loaded handgun and a quantity of drugs were recovered following a traffic stop on Blackwood Clementon Road Friday night, Gloucester Township Police said.

Troy Wilson, 28, of Camden, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of CDS, distribution of CDS, certain persons not to have weapons, and possession of CDS 1,000 feet from a school.

Ziar Cuff, 19, of Sicklerville, a passenger in the car, was arrested on several outstanding warrants, but was released without complaints after posting $2,500 bail.

Police stopped the car around 8:23 p.m. on June 24. As the officer approached the car, he could smell marijuana coming from the stopped vehicle, police said Monday morning.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a bag with numerous packs of heroin and several additional packages containing cocaine, police said.

Police allege they also recovered a .38 caliber Ruger LCR handgun that was loaded with 5 rounds.

Wilson was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $150,000 full cash bail.
