Man Arrested in Double Homicide in South Jersey

James Peterson is charged with killing two men in Camden last week.

A Camden man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double homicide that took place in the city last week, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson said on Thursday.

James Peterson, 32, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 50-year-old Richard Lincoln of Camden and 33-year-old Angel Martinez of Camden.

Police found both men suffering from gunshot wounds inside a house on the 500 block of 8th Street in Camden around 9:47 a.m. on April 14.

They both were pronounced deceased at the scene at about 10:03 a.m.

Peterson was remanded to the Camden County Jail on $2,000,000 bail, with his arraignment scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
